Marcela Ramírez (b. Morelia, Mexico) studied fine arts with Juan Torres at the School of Fine Arts, San Nicolas de Hidalgo University, and the House of Culture in Morelia. From 1978-1988 participates in many group shows throughout Mexico including “11 Women Painters” in Morelia, “Exhibition of Drawings” in Monterrey, and “Night of the Dead” in San Antonio, TX. From 1987-1988 has two solo exhibitions of her drawings “Dibujos de Marcela Ramirez” at the House of Culture of Michoacan and “Drawings” at Teatro Juarez in Guanajuato city. In 1987 she participates in two limited edition portfolios with other artists. From 1980-1989 she leads children’s workshops of fine arts in the House of Culture of Michoacan. She continues to create her drawings and prints in Morelia where she resides.
