Lexi Coffee made Chicago her home 13 years ago, where she currently lives with her husband, Kurt and their two cats, Monster and Monkey. Originally born in New Jersey, Lexi moved with her family to Arizona in the 1970’s where she spent most of her childhood until graduating and moving to California to attend college. She graduated with her BFA from UC Santa Barbara in 1995 then moved to San Francisco. Pursuing various commercial art fields, Lexi then moved to New York to work in the commercial photography industry. In 2002, Lexi left Brooklyn to attend graduate school at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching. She currently works for the Chicago Public Schools as a high school art teacher. When she’s not teaching, she’s making art to share with friends, family, students, and potential collectors.
