Pascale Solignac (b. France) studied communication and political sciences and worked as a journalist. She came to printmaking “brutally” with the discovery of the powerful expressiveness of this medium. “When I engrave, I feel my descent from my grandmothers who would knit, absorbed in their work while remaining receptive to the outside world.” Pascale practices a form of popular printmaking in the sense that everyone can immediately comprehend the image, even if sometimes the eye and brain need a little time to grasp the forms and contrasts. Her inspiration derives from daily life, either turned towards the dream dimension of existence or more politically oriented, sometimes subversive, but without forgetting to inject a dose of humor.
