Maureen Warren (b. Chicago) received her BFA from SAIC and MFA from UIC. Maureen was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship and studied at the Academies of Fine Art in Warsaw and Cracow, Poland. Travel, a way to explore the aesthetics of another time and place and experience new and unfamiliar cultures, is a continuing influence on her paintings and prints. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally, notably IPCNY (International Print Center New York) and the Ft. Wayne Museum of Art, Indiana. In addition, Maureen has facilitated group exhibitions, “Santitos” in Florence, Italy and the traveling exhibition “Chicago Artists Interpret Shakespeare: As They Like It”. WTTW featured this show in the PBS documentary “Our City, Our Shakespeare”.
