Maureen Warren (b. Chicago) received her BFA from SAIC. Maureen was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Eastern Europe, where she studied at the Academies of Fine Art in Warsaw and Cracow, Poland. She earned a MFA in Painting from the UIC. She traveled widely and images from other countries, and their unique cultures, have been a constant source of ideas for her work. Recently birds have become important residents in her work. Birds transcend time and culture, are silent witnesses, steadfast companions, comrades and conscience bearers. Maureen exhibits in the U.S. and Internationally.
