Eva Solíz (b. 1965 Laredo, Texas) studied art at The University of Texas at Austin where she received a BFA in studio art with an emphasis in painting, ceramics and intaglio printmaking. During the summer of 1989 she attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, an artist residency program in Skowhegan, Maine. Chicago later became her home where she attained an MFA in painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in Texas, Chicago and Mexico. Currently, she resides in her hometown of Laredo, Texas where she has been employed by Laredo Community College as an art instructor for over 11 years and continues to create and exhibit her art.
