Duhirwe Rushemeza (b. Rwanda) currently resides in New York. Duhirwe received her Bachelors degree in Art and pre-Architecture at Spelman College. She briefly studied art and architecture abroad in Florence, Italy and at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She recently finished her Masters program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Duhirwe’s artwork, ranging from linocuts, woodcuts, relief wood carving mixed media, as well as installation work, is informed by her diverse experiences. Her artwork, has been shown and included in private and public collections throughout the U.S., Africa, Europe and now Asia.
