Dolores Mercado (b. Mexico) studied art at “La Esmeralda”, La Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City and the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Currently she works for the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago as the Associate Director of Education. In 2007, she curated the Women Artists of Modern Mexico: Frida’s Contemporaries Exhibit and assisted with the Nahui Olin: A Woman Beyond Time Exhibit at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. She has exhibited in Mexico, Spain, the United States, Nicaragua and Canada.
