Concha de la Serna (b. 1958, Seville, Spain) moved to Philadelphia in 1991 after being granted a Fulbright Scholarship to continue studying and working as a Psychologist. While residing there she decided to study art, obtaining her BFA (´92-´96), and the MFA at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (´97-´99), majoring in sculpture. She exhibited in New York, Pennsylvania, London and Seville, obtaining various awards. She participated in a group show curated by Mark Rosenthal, and presented at the Guggenheim Museum of Art in New York. While the materials she uses in her work are different, the content is normally related to nature. She currently lives in Seville.
