Ramiro Rodríguez, Tierra y Libertad 1810-2010, 2010, Woodcut

Ramiro Rodríguez was born in 1965 to Mexican emigrants and grew up in Western Michigan. In 1993 he received his Master of Fine Art Degree in painting from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Rodriguez currently lives in South Bend, Indiana with his wife and two sons. He is an Exhibition Coordinator at the Snite Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame. Rodríguez’s figurative paintings and prints have been exhibited in various one-person and group shows around the country and are included in numerous private collections around the world. However, he has encountered the widest public recognition through the reproduction of his works by the multi-platinum selling musical group Tool. The group’s use of several of Ramiro’s images for promotional material has introduced his work to many music fans around the world.
