Jacquelyn Ruttinger (b. Great Falls, Montana, USA) studied art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received the BFA degree with Honors (1963). From Northern Illinois University, she received the MA degree (1976) and MFA degree (1977), both in drawing and painting. From 1986-2006, she was Director of Exhibitions and Visiting Artist Programs for the School of Art at Western Michigan University. Throughout the years, she has been a continually practicing artist exhibiting in more than 100 invitational and competitive exhibitions. Also, she has exhibited in over 30 solo shows and has work in more than 20 permanent public collections including: Western Michigan University; Northern Illinois University; Illinois State Museum; Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois; and the Sheldon Swope Art Museum, Terre Haute, Indiana. Her art, whether curvilinear or rectilinear, has always been informed by contemporary and futuristic architecture.
